The problem in brief

The Product Owner is not happy with the first release of the app & feels it could be much improved.

Actions: Redesign the app home page, look into what features are of importance to the user & better place them on the home page & within the navigation making for a more accessible & intuitive experience.

Initial wires & interaction

After working with PO to establish what improvements we could make as per ‘quick wins’ I started to wireframe the app home page with interaction points.

UX specification

Once happy with the wires I started to work on the UI adhering to the brand guidelines & making use of the icon pack whilst creating new for the home page CTA’s. I put together the UX specification as seen below for hand over to dev, whom were based offshore.

The solution

After gathering requirements & looking at competitors offerings I started work on designing a new landing page we were able to gather some key insights as to hot spots on existing apps & take these considerations into account when making strategic decisions. During the process there was enthuses on branding & iconography also. Due to budget the prototype was tested with a wider audience of key stakeholders within the business.
